Welcome to Triple Gem of the North

Triple Gem of the North is a non-profit organization dedicated to the study and practice of the Buddha’s teachings, meditation, and mindful living. We offer meditation sessions, Buddhist Sutta study programs, and retreats to support spiritual growth and inner peace.

Rooted in the spirit of dana (selfless generosity), our teachings and programs are offered unconditionally. Those who feel inspired may also practice dana by offering donations to help us continue our mission of guiding individuals on their path to illumination. At the conclusion of our events and retreats, tax-deductible donations are gratefully accepted to support our efforts.

Our vision is to maintain a dedicated space for meditation practice and a retreat center where individuals can come to meditate for any duration, supported by resident teachers and a community of practitioners. We also organize retreats to promote a mindful way of life, led by both resident and visiting teachers. Weekly meditation classes and retreats are available, ensuring that everyone, regardless of financial resources, has the opportunity to participate.

At Triple Gem of the North, no one is turned away due to financial limitations. Our center operates on the principle of generosity, making meditation and mindfulness accessible to all who seek peace, wisdom, and transformation

Triplegem is operated by a voluntary board

Buddha

Buddha is a title for an awakened one. He cultivated compassion and wisdom. Liberated from pain and suffering by overcoming craving he introduced the eight-fold path to mankind so we may seek personal liberation. Sangha follows the teaching from this great teacher.

Dhamma

Reality is another name for Dhamma. Dhamma in Pali, dharma in Sanskrit (Pali is the Buddha’s original language). 45 years of Buddha’s recorded teachings are what we call the Pali Canon. We all can use the Dhamma for their practice and teaching.

sangha

Sangha

There are two parts to the Sangha. Ordained sangha and non-ordained sangha. Sangha means those who follows the teachings of Buddha. Ordained sangha contains bhikkus and bhikkunis known as monks and Nuns.

Food Policy

Our food policy is to serve the food that best reflects the Buddha’s teachings of compassion and non-harming. All of the food served to participants on retreat, and the monastics who live there and visit, is fully plant-based which supports compassion for animals, our planet, and the health of our families and ourselves.
